According to Rachel Resines, self-esteem is the feeling of acceptance and outlook of oneself, which is linked to the sense of competence and worth. The concept we have of ourselves is not inherited, but learned around us, through the assessment we make of our behavior and assimilation and internalization of the opinion of others about us. As we saw in the movie at first for Big Mike was all adverse, felt insecure, nervous, reticent, suspicious, low self-esteem, aloof, with handicap economical, no social support, but had an excellent ability in sports; added to this in the school closed the doors to enter and receive appropriate training to be successful in life or the teachers was condescending. In the second part is to Mrs. Lian, who by his young son, little by little she catches the attention of Mike's life, then she gives his support, his willingness to help make it a good person, acquire certain merit, gives life lessons, the surrounding environment and teach others the value of helping people in need. With the passage of time is surpassing Mike, get good grades in school, he joined into society, stands out in football, and becomes a more extroverted socially, is in a family environment influences the ratio changes in the family that gives her support, gains confidence in himself... so get real help. In the third part of this film, we learn in a way that Mike felt deceived or grouchy by the family because they wanted to enter another college for a few convenience items, but finds time and clarifies the issue with Lian. And once the school, Mike virtually is a really awesome person, which gives an example of life and overcome with appropriate support from a family with high values, to the point that it becomes a player actually contributed in football. The importance of self-esteem is that drives us to act, to move forward and motivates us to pursue our goals. In situations like that experienced by Mike, we as a society should think of the needy, which is a clear example of that trust, support, enthusiasm, dedication and effort can achieve the dreams. I think this movie, The Blind Side, allowed us to see the ability of people to overcome their shyness, build self-esteem and their relationships with others. The character "Big Mike" underwent a major change in his nature, with the support of his new family, went from being an introverted, insecure young to be a very sociable and confident.
ResponderEliminarI believe that everyone, at least in one scene, we identify with the character, and the fact that Michael was able to overcome that stage or those feelings that prevented him socializing and have greater self esteem, makes us realize that we also can do it, with the support of people who love us.
to me self esteem is something that indeed has some impact to our way to behave and feel, regardless in the same way i do consider it is not as important as most records and book address, it is just as plain and simple you need to feel good about yourself if you dont seek why and change it.
